Great video. I just ordered a Vitesse D7HG so I’m trying to keep myself entertained before it arrives. I’ve been looking at a couple options to make packing for trips easy.
1-Quick release for front and rear wheel would make this process a lot faster
2-I’m not sure, but maybe a telescoping seat post
3-I think I’m also going to leave the mud guards off, at least when i travel (it seems like you did the same in your video
I’ve also been looking at the Airporter mini case, but at $300 I’m uncertain

@TekBuf Drop the chain into a zip-lock bag.

Thanks for sharing this. Well done. You could put a master link in the chain e.g. Wippermann Connex. You could remove and add the chain with no problem.

Revise your procedure.
Step 1: WIPE DOWN THE CHAIN WITH PAPER TOWELS!!
I use something called “Prolube Prolink Gold” chain lube. Keeps chain very clean. Really.
Also: you need a crush-protecting pillar to keep the sides from flexing in and crushing your bike when it ends up on the bottom of the baggage cart. Otherwise you might as well put it in a soft bag. Some use PVC pipe for this, threaded between the spokes of the wheels. I make triangular cardboard struts.
Nice job.

It is not fake. This is not a standard size suitcase but one of the largest allowable by airlines without them charging extra.

Fake, I don’t know what his deal is, but I tried this and I can say it doesn’t fit. The frame is just too big. He probably works for Dahone. Its much better to just get a full sized electric bike for green enviro-friendly commuting, and then an A-Bike (by Sir Sinclaire) if you’re going on an airplane. This stuff is especially important now, the climate change bill just passed so we should all effort into being more green!

It took me around one hour to do. But it could be easily done under half an hour. The biggest nuisance is the dirty chain flopping around. But there is a a tool you can buy to hold a chain in place. I have done this twice and are no damages to the bike.

Great video==very informative. I also have a Speed D7 exactly like yours, even the same green. What is the actual time it took you to break down the bike? How many times have you done that? Did it arrive undamaged? Thanks and Cheers!

I am not sure teh suoitcase model, but it is probably just large enough to fall within the 62 linear dimensions airlines size restriction.
